The F15 X5 35d is noticeably quieter than the E70. As for the power difference, it is not noticeable probably because the F15 has an eight-speed transmission compared to the E70's six speed. What is noticeable is the improved fuel mileage. The stop ship must be off or be really spotty.

I'm on my second bmw but first X5, an E70 3.0sd 08, only had it a couple of months and generally happy with it, I was a bit apprehensive on fuel consumption but took the plunge, needed a 4x4 Remanufactured Bosch fuel injector for BMW 335d and X5. This has the updated design which, among other things, makes it more water resistant. Sold Individually. This product has a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer against manufacturer defects. Warranty does not cover installation.
It also got excellent mpg’s, sometimes above 30 on road trips. However the repairs and reliability were getting to be too much. The DEF tank or sensors failed multiple times, including once while on a road trip. The car put a message up of ‘will not restart in 300 miles’, which is really comforting when you’re 1,000 miles from home.
